Greetings!
Who is Rachelle? Rachelle is actually my middle name and Rotricia (which is a combination of my parents names) is my first name. I am a mother, wife, designer, baker, crafter, photographer and a girl who enjoys a good class of wine and prefers cheese for dessert. I dream big and enjoy supporting others to follow their dreams too.
There was a time in my life that I defined myself by my degrees and work experience. I obtained a bachelor and masters degree in engineering and business technology. I traveled as often as I could and married my husband in the beautiful Chianti region of Italy. Fast forward a few years and I use a completely different list of words to describe who I am. It is so empowering to move past describing myself by just what I do alone.
Choosing to the leave a full time sales manager position to be present for my children presented an opportunity to explore my creative talents. My engineering background and attention to detail serve me well in designing special touches and creating memorable moments. As a textile engineer, my knowledge of textiles and materials is incorporated into every design creation.
In addition, I truly believe that being a business owner is in my genes. I was blessed with ambitious parents that had the confidence and drive to follow their dreams. From an early age, I recall my father being an entrepreneur. I not only watched him, but also worked along side him to learn how to run a business, the rewards of working hard and the power of following your passion. My mother, while raising 3 children, returned to college (at the same time 2 of her children were in college) for a second degree and kept going to obtain her Phd as well.
I am grateful for many things my parents taught me, but one thing for sure that has brought me to where I am today to launch A Sweet Touch by Rachelle Grace is the confidence they instilled in me to know that I can do it! I, too can be a business owner.
