My son loves the Dragons Love Tacos books and he loves dinosaurs. So, I had this idea to combine the two into his very own Dinos Love Pizza Party. One of the many benefits of having a mom as a planner is that I can pull a party together rather quickly thanks to great vendors and a well stocked supply stash. With less than 2 weeks till the party date and only 30 minutes to set-up, it was essential to keep it simple. I chose a modern clean design and was able to get all the supplies into one box for transport.

For the design, I chose a few bright colors to pop off a black base. Red, green and yellow kept it youthful and fun. The dessert table was centered by a personalized sign with a dinosaur running with a slice of pizza. My son loves cookies more than cake, but I won him over with this delicious Oreo cream cake. It was the perfect balance of 4 layers of yellow cake with a light Oreo cream icing. The kids thought it was rather cool that the dino on top laid eggs too.

Another opportunity to personalized a kids event is to add custom designed placemats. These are easy to have printed at a local print shop with or without lamination.

We hosted the party at a local restaurant where the kids made their own pizza and toured the kitchen. After adding their favorite toppings, they watched as the chef placed their pizza into the brick oven. It is not everyday that you get to go behind the scenes of a professional kitchen so this was a rather cool activity. Knowing that a bunch of 7 year olds would not sit still for long, they were also entertained with a magic show and got to choose their favorite dinosaur balloon.
