With less than 3 weeks to chose a venue and pull all the details together, this colorful masquerade came together beautifully. The client had me at masquerade. Surprisingly, we have not worked with this theme till now. But, I knew from the beginning that we would do something fresh and different with both colors and design for this theme. The shades of purple and pops of rose gold really brought the design to life.
When guests arrived they were greeted by a grand balloon backdrop in shades of purple accented with rose gold. Gold marquee numbers were a nice personalized detail in honor of the client’s 35th birthday. Several areas throughout the venue were designed with the theme in mind for that perfect instaphoto for sharing the night of the event using the #taylorsthirtyfine. Well thought out themed decor areas allow the guests to capture memories and feel a part of the celebration.
When I first started this business, the primary service offering was elaborate themed dessert displays. We have since expanded into a full event planning and design firm for both social and corporate events. Dessert tables will however continue to be a design element that we incorporate into our events.
For this event, we mirrored the purple and rose gold balloon garland on a smaller scale cascading down one side of the dessert display. The honoree loves strawberries so we designed a vanilla cake with fresh strawberry cream filling. The cupcakes were a mix of cream cheese and strawberry as well. The mini gold dusted macarons were the perfect detail on top of the blueberry panna cotta dessert cups. White chocolate and meringue filled pastry cups and red velvet cake pops were equally appetizing.
When my client told me she liked candy, I initially thought we would incorporate it into the dessert display. Well, that changed when she provided me with a long list of her favorites. She obviously has a sweet tooth so we surprised her with many of her favorites and turn it into a candy guest favor station to share with all her guests.
Varying the shades of purple and the textures of the tablecloths gives the room more interest. The pops of color from the florals help provide a more cohesive design and minimize purple overload. We love incorporating personalized elements like the customize pillows. These are items the client can keep and use even after the event is over.
Guest started at the bar, worked their way to the chicken and waffle bar but by the end of the night, the DJ had everyone on the dance floor.
