Tutti Frutti Back To School Pool Party

August 30, 2017 | Leave a Comment

Now in it’s third year, the theme for our back to school pool party was so bright, colorful, and very fruitti. This is such a fun theme!  The pops of color make you smile, right? The idea to use this theme was chosen after a friend asked if I wanted a couple of pool floats which happen to be a giant lemon slice and a slice of watermelon.

The dessert table was anchored by a round watermelon beach towel. Pieces of fruit and tropical leaves were the primary design elements. The white buttercream cake was topped with a lemon cured and had layers of fresh strawberries inside. So good…trust me! Two fruit tarts were added to the table as well as fresh fruit.  The cupcakes were topped with peach candy rings, fruit jellies, and old school berry gummies. In case you have not had them before, they are crunchy on the outside and soft sweet jelly inside. No time for decorated cookies so we opted for a quick version of a fruit pizza. Waffle cookies were topped with a cream cheese icing and fresh fruit. So easy and the kids and adults loved them.
